SkyCity Adelaide to reopen its doors

SkyCity Adelaide welcomes confirmation from the State Government that they will be permitted to welcome back staff and customers when South Australia moves to Stage Three on Monday, June 29.

SkyCity Adelaide General Manager, David Christian, said: "We have a comprehensive plan in place to ensure our guests and staff are safe, and we look forward to showcasing some of the transformation projects that have continued during our closure.

"With a workforce of more than 1,200 South Australians, our priority has remained getting our team back to work safely as we enter a historic period for SkyCity with the opening of our expansion and hotel later in 2020."

SkyCity has been working closely with the State Government to ensure a commitment to delivering the most robust health and safety standards to manage the risks associated with COVID-19, including:

  • Implemented physical distancing measures across the precinct
  • Increased cleaning activities to ensure more frequent cleaning of surfaces
  • Hand sanitiser available to employees and guests
  • Additional training for employees regarding what is required to keep themselves and customers safe
  • Implemented visitor registers to assist with contact tracing
  • Guests and employees can wear a mask if they wish (voluntary)

"We thank the SkyCity customers for their understanding during our period of closure.

"SkyCity Adelaide’s transformation into a world-class integrated entertainment destination continues, forming part of the reinvigorated Riverbank Precinct.

"The shutdown period has allowed us to review our supply chain and adapt our offerings to ensure that we are increasing our support for local producers and suppliers even further," said Christian.

SkyCity Adelaide Casino will open on Monday to members only at this stage and with reduced operating hours, joining already reopened SkyCity restaurants The Guardsman and Madame Hanoi. Sean’s Kitchen will reopen in the coming weeks following the completion of work on Station Lane.
