Sky Tower shines yellow to unite against COVID-19
From tonight, the Sky Tower will be lit yellow and white in support of the New Zealand Government’s call to unite against COVID-19.
In line with the country’s alert system being raised to level 4, at sunset the tower will be lit in yellow and white stripes to stand in solidarity with all New Zealanders during these uncertain times.
Graeme Stephens, Chief Executive Officer SkyCity Entertainment Group wanted to acknowledge the significance of the occasion through the lighting of the Sky Tower.
"As a country, we are facing one of the hardest times in our living memories, with unprecedented times leading to unprecedented actions."
"The Sky Tower is often looked to as a symbol of hope, and I hope that it can serve as a reminder to all Kiwis to stay home, be kind, and support neighbours, friends and whānau during this time.
"We are all in this together. We are resilient and we will come back stronger than ever."
