SkyCity’s Orbit 360° Dining has reopened with a redesigned interior and a new seasonal menu, bringing a stronger sense of place to one of Auckland’s most memorable dining experiences.
Set 190 metres above the city, Orbit 360° Dining is New Zealand’s only revolving restaurant, completing a full rotation every hour.
The new interior uses warm timber, textured finishes and curved lighting to create a more inviting space. As Orbit turns, more of Auckland is revealed, from the city’s maunga and harbour to the Hauraki Gulf.
That same sense of place carries through to the new seasonal set menu, which puts New Zealand produce at the centre while drawing on flavours and techniques from around the world.
Braised pork belly is served with hāngi stuffing, horopito honey and kūmara, while longline-caught snapper is served with green-lipped mussels and pāua butter. A slow-braised butcher’s cut features among the mains, with desserts including a pistachio and passionfruit delice.
Orbit 360° Dining Venue Manager Dau Duisenov says the new interior and menu were designed as one complete experience.
“Orbit has always had one of the best views in Auckland. As the Sky Tower celebrates its 29th birthday, it feels like the perfect time to welcome guests back to our reimagined restaurant. The new menu and interior are just as memorable as the view.
“The restaurant is warmer and more modern, and that same approach carries through to the food, with local ingredients and flavours featured throughout.”
Duisenov says his personal favourite is the spiced coconut and pineapple.
“The chilli lime sauce adds freshness, the avocado brings richness, and the pineapple ties it all together. I love seeing guests’ reactions when they try it for the first time.”
