SKYCITY announces new fixture on poker calendar

SKYCITY Casino is pleased to announce a new fixture to its already popular poker calendar. The Lee Nelson Deep Stack Series will be held from 22 – 28 March 2010 at SKYCITY Poker which is located on Level 3 of SKYCITY Auckland.
The series, named after New Zealand’s most famous poker player, Lee ‘Final Table’ Nelson will host a variety of events including Single Table Mega Satellites, No Limit Texas Hold’em events, a Pot Limit Omaha event, 6-handed No Limit Texas Hold’em and the main event the Lee Nelson Deepstack.
Player numbers are limited to 180 with a minimum of ten levels played on Day 1, with the remaining players heading into Day 2. The buy-in for the main event is NZD $1,100.00 with a guaranteed NZD $50,000.00 prize pool, which will increase as more players enter.
Satellites are being held from the 22 – 26 March with buy-ins as small as NZD $60.00 up to NZD $230.00. Players compete in the satellite events to gain entry into larger satellites and into the main event.
Players to keep an eye on during the Lee Nelson Deep Stack Series are SKYCITY Poker Ambassador Brooke Howard-Smith and of course Lee ‘Final Table’ Nelson.

Nelson is a trained US MD who moved to New Zealand in 1994 and is now a New Zealand Citizen and calls it home. He has always played poker in his spare time and has retired from medicine to focus on his hobby more closely.
