SKYCITY Entertainment Group Announce Retirements

SKYCITY has this afternoon formally announced the upcoming retirements of Andrew Wilson, General Manager of SKYCITY Darwin and Emmanuel Cruz, Assistant General Manager of SKYCITY Darwin. Both will retire at the end of September 2010.
Mr Wilson will be returning home to Perth after more than eight years with SKYCITY Darwin. “I have had the opportunity to guide and direct not only the physical changes to the Resort but also the development of a true community spirit and integration of this significant facility into being part of Darwin community life. I am extremely confident that SKYCITY Darwin will continue to blossom as a facility much appreciated by SKYCITY customers, tourists to the Northern Territory and the general public.”
SKYCITY Chief Executive, Nigel Morrison says the Company is sad to see both long serving team members depart and thanks them for their significant contribution to the business.
“The Darwin business has grown significantly under Andrew’s leadership and he has built a strong profile for the business within the Darwin community. He has driven a number of significant capital projects which have made our Darwin property the Northern Territory’s premium casino resort destination that it is today.
“Emmanuel Cruz has had an outstanding career with the Darwin property over his 14 years with the business. The high standard of food and beverage along with the many premium events that have become part of the Darwin social calendar have been driven by Cruz and his team."
SKYCITY hopes to be in a position to announce the appointment of the next General Manager in the near term.
