SKYCITY Darwin voted top NT Hotel for the 4th year

SKYCITY Darwin has been named the Northern Territory’s top hotel, as voted by consumers in the 2009 HotelClub Awards. This is the fourth year SKYCITY Darwin has won this honour; 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
The online accommodation provider HotelClub.com.au recognised Oceania's best hotels and resorts at the awards ceremony in Sydney on Tuesday hosted by Lochie Daddo. The top hotels in each Australian state and territory, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands were announced, as were awards recognising Best Service, Best Boutique, Best Affordable, and Best Country Hotels in the region.
More than 52,000 votes/ratings were received for more than 2,800 in the Oceanic region.
To determine this year’s winners an online consumer survey hosted by HotelClub.com was conducted (July 2009) in conjunction with partners Virgin Blue and Asia One. Additionally customers’ hotel ratings posted on HotelClub.com where collected since July last year.
“To have the public vote for SKYCITY Darwin as their favourite place to stay in the Northern Territory is a great honour,” says SKYCITY Darwin General Manager Andrew Wilson.
“This is great recognition for the hard work each and every staff member puts in to give our customers an enjoyable and memorable experience during their stay. We are delighted our guests have had such a great time and that they made the effort to vote for us.”
Consumers were asked to nominate hotels based on the following criteria and to provide a score out of 10 for each criterion – with 10 being the highest - ambience, family friendliness, rooms, restaurant facilities, cleanliness, business facilities, location, leisure facilities, staff attitude and value for money.
