Owen Colin brings more than 12 years’ hospitality experience to the Adelaide Casino and a string of awards to his name, including being the Australian representative at The BOLS Around the World Cocktail Cup in Amsterdam in 2008 and Top 10 Finalist in the Australian Bartender of the Year in the same year.
Owen has been a key player in many of Adelaide’s leading restaurants and bars, including Hotel Tivoli, where he was instrumental in developing a cocktail training program and menu, and Farina Kitchen & Bar, The Manse Restaurant and Sparrow Kitchen & Bar, as Executive Bar Manager for the Trim Hospitality Group.
His skills are sought after as the trainer and brand ambassador for the Alchemy training program which saw him average three training sessions each week covering topics such as speed and efficiency, cocktail skills and product knowledge.
Adelaide Casino General Manager, David Christian, says Owen is a fantastic addition to the Chandelier Bar due to his unrivaled passion for bar tendering.
“His experience gained throughout Adelaide and internationally stands him in good stead and we know he will bring another aspect to what has become our signature bar at the Adelaide Casino,” Mr Christian said.
Chandelier Bar is located in the newly revamped Marble Hall – a grand 19th century hall featuring an impressive custom-built chandelier boasting 2029 Italian hand blown glass bubbles, weighing in at almost a tonne.
The $5 million transformation to the Hall marked the arrival of table games such as Blackjack, Threecard Poker and Roulette.
“We’re really thrilled with the response to Marble Hall and the Chandelier Bar so far. Our guests are enjoying the glamour that it brings to the Casino and Owen’s influence will only add to that experience,” Mr Christian said.
The Chandelier Bar and Marble Hall gaming area is open to the general public to enjoy with live music seven days a week.
