SKYCITY Celebrates Success at Northern Territory Tourism Awards

SKYCITY Darwin celebrated at the 2009 Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards held on Saturday night, taking home three awards. The Brolga Awards recognize and encourage innovation, quality and excellence within the Northern Territory tourism industry.
The awards won by SKYCITY are:
- Winner – Luxury Accommodation
- Winner – Tourism Restaurants and Catering
- Winner – Tourism Education and Training
All three awards are back to back wins for SKYCITY Darwin. Last year, SKYCITY Darwin went on to win two out of the three categories at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards for Tourism Education and Training and Luxury Accommodation.
SKYCITY Darwin General Manager, Andrew Wilson, says he’s extremely proud that SKYCITY has been given the opportunity to again represent the Northern Territory at the national level.
“It's fantastic recognition for the hard work and dedication each and every staff member contributes to provide excellent customer service and a great Territory tourism experience” said Mr Wilson, who accepted the awards at the National Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs on Saturday night.
“We train over a thousand staff every year in all areas of the organization, from chefs and waiters, gaming and casino, housekeeping and front office, it’s an integral part of our business.”
“We are continually reviewing our business, upgrading and adding to our facilities, and ensuring the product we offer meets our customers needs and expectations” said Mr Wilson.
SKYCITY Darwin will again represent the Northern Territory at the Qantas Australian Tourism being held in Hobart in late February.
