The lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, put her ticket on this morning at SKYCITY, paying just $1 to win the 10 spot jackpot of $1,618,422.50.
The grandmother, born and bred in Darwin, was at SKYCITY for Monday Seniors Day, and usually plays the 6 spot game. However with the Jackpot up so high, she decided to put her numbers on the 10 spot game instead. She had not played the 10 spot game for over a year.
She watched as her numbers came up on the screen and couldn’t believe her eyes as the final number, 13, lit up. She quickly tracked down her husband and discreetly claimed her prize. She plans to share her winnings with her family.
The lucky winner, who is a regular NT Keno player, has been playing 2 sets of six numbers on the 6 spot game for some time, and used a combination of these to win the jackpot.
The winning numbers were 11, 13, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31.
This is the fourth time the 10 spot jackpot has gone off in just over a year. NT Keno gave away over $2million to a lucky Tennant Creek mum on mothers day in May 2009, less than a month later, gave away $1,049,206.70 to a Grandfather in Nightcliff then a pensioner in Parap won $1,270,534.40 in October.
It’s been a lucky weekend for NT Keno players. A man in his 50’s won $320,000 playing the 9 spot game on Saturday at the Arnhem Club.
